Creative Strategist

What is a Creative Strategist?

Creative Strategists own the end-to-end creative strategy for Tierra clients, with a primary focus on developing high-performing paid media creative. They translate client goals, brand positioning, and performance data into scalable creative systems that drive results across paid platforms.

CS works cross-functionally with Growth Strategists, Media Buyers, Designers, and external vendors to ensure creative output is strategic, timely, and performance-driven.

Responsibilities

Client creative strategy

  • Spearhead the creative strategy for Tierra clients as it relates to developing performance ad creative for Meta, Google, Axon, and YouTube
  • Understand each client's brand, vision, key competitors, differentiators, target customer avatars, and what motivates consumers to buy
  • Translate performance data and client goals into clear creative direction and actionable concepts
  • Align creative strategy with promotional calendars, launches, holidays, and sales periods

Creative production

  • Own and project-manage the ad creation process from ideation through delivery
  • Ideate, brief, storyboard, and submit ad concepts for production in collaboration with Tierra's graphic designers and third-party vendors
  • Write ad copy โ€” video scripts, hooks, headlines, primary text, and CTAs
  • Review existing raw creative assets and develop clear briefs, scripts, and creative plans for the design team
  • Provide QA on all finished creative, ad copy, and content โ€” ensure assets match approved strategy, brand standards, and Tierra's quality expectations
  • Collaborate closely with the Tierra design team to ensure creative tasks are executed according to plan
  • Film and shoot content as needed for clients
  • Manage and oversee photoshoots and content production with third-party photographers, creators, and vendors

Creative performance & optimization

  • Collaborate with Media Buyers to understand what creative is driving performance and why
  • Identify winning creative patterns and iterate on high-performing angles, formats, and messaging
  • Proactively identify creative fatigue and recommend refreshes or new concepts
  • Maintain an organized swipe file of high-performing ad templates from Tierra clients and top-performing brands
  • Stay up to date with trends across Meta, Instagram, Facebook, AppLovin, and YouTube

Client collaboration

  • Work closely with clients during onboarding to align on creative direction, expectations, and workflows
  • Participate in creative discussions and provide strategic guidance throughout the client lifecycle
  • Recommend and upsell Tierra content curation or production packages when additional assets are needed

Internal collaboration

  • Collaborate with Growth Strategists to ensure creative aligns with broader client strategy
  • Support audits, creative reviews, and performance discussions as needed
  • Conduct internal trainings or webinars to share creative best practices, trends, and frameworks
  • Assist with Tierra's internal creative strategy and social media content development
  • Help develop systems that improve creative delivery timelines, task prioritization, and resource management

Assigned task execution & accountability

  • Complete all assigned tasks by their due dates
  • Prioritize tasks that directly impact client performance or deliverables
  • Anticipate upcoming tasks and prepare in advance
  • Take ownership โ€” communicate delays promptly
  • Review all aspects of a task before marking it complete
