Graphic Designer

What is a Graphic Designer?

Graphic Designers at Tierra are responsible for executing high-performing visual creative for paid media, with a primary focus on static ad creative and animated assets.

Designers translate creative briefs, strategic guidance, and performance insights into clear, compelling visuals built to convert.

The role requires a strong understanding of DTC performance marketing principles, consumer psychology, and platform-specific design practices.

Responsibilities

Performance ad creative design

  • Design high-quality static ad creative for paid media across Meta, Axon, and Google/YouTube
  • Design motion graphic assets (animated GIFs) for interactive end cards and ad units
  • Translate creative briefs and marketing strategy into clear, conversion-focused visual executions
  • Apply DTC performance marketing principles: strong hooks, hierarchy, clarity, contrast, CTA emphasis
  • Design ads tailored to specific audiences, offers, angles, and stages of awareness
  • Produce multiple variations of creative to support testing and iteration

Creative strategy awareness

  • Understand what types of ads convert across platforms and verticals
  • Read and interpret marketing and creative briefs to accurately execute against strategy
  • Incorporate learnings from performance data, feedback, and creative insights into future designs
  • Stay current on performance ad trends, layouts, and visual styles used by top-performing brands

Performance video ad creative production (role-dependent)

Depending on skill set and experience, some Graphic Designers may also support video ad creative production:

  • Edit high-quality performance video ads for Meta, Axon, and Google/YouTube
  • Assemble and refine video assets optimized for conversion: UGC-style ads, direct-response creatives, platform-native formats
  • Translate creative briefs and strategic guidance into clear, conversion-focused video executions
  • Apply DTC performance marketing principles: strong hooks, pacing, visual hierarchy, on-screen text, clear CTA emphasis
  • Edit videos tailored to specific audiences, offers, angles, and stages of awareness
  • Produce multiple video variations (hooks, edits, captions, CTAs) to support testing and iteration

Tools & technical execution

  • Execute design work using Tierra's suite: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Frame, Canva
  • Maintain organized working files for collaboration and iteration
  • Prepare assets according to platform specifications and delivery requirements
  • Ensure all creative meets brand guidelines, platform policies, and Tierra's quality standards

Generative AI & emerging tools

  • Leverage generative AI tools to enhance speed, ideation, and execution
  • Maintain working knowledge of modern AI tools for design: ChatGPT, Nano Banana, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, DALL·E
  • Use AI responsibly as a support tool, not a replacement for strong design judgment or strategy

Collaboration & feedback

  • Collaborate closely with Creative Strategists to execute against approved creative direction
  • Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining design quality and intent
  • Communicate proactively when creative direction is unclear or additional context is needed
  • Support revisions and iterations based on performance feedback and testing results

Assigned task execution & accountability

  • Complete all assigned tasks by their due dates
  • Prioritize tasks that directly impact client performance or deliverables
  • Anticipate upcoming tasks and prepare in advance
  • Take ownership — communicate delays promptly
  • Review all aspects of a task before marking it complete
