Growth Strategist

What is a Growth Strategist?

Growth Strategists lead the internal team for their respective clients, ensuring proactive management and exceptional results. Growth Strategists may share this role alongside other responsibilities, especially Account Management or Sales.

They possess a deep skill set that includes:

  • Performance Marketing Expertise — seasoned professionals with extensive knowledge of performance marketing, backed by years of experience
  • Comprehensive Digital Knowledge — proficient in all aspects of the digital landscape: ad platforms, creative strategy, web development, CRO, copywriting, and overall marketing strategy
  • Attention to Detail — responsible for QA across all deliverables (landing pages, ad creative, marketing briefs). Growth Strategists are the "final pass" or "stamp of approval" on all client deliverables

Growth Strategist Expectations

The Growth Strategist's role is crucial to maintaining client satisfaction, reducing churn, and retaining client contracts for as long as possible.

Own client success

  • Ensure consistent overdelivery of results. This is the core of the role and the primary way we keep clients happy.
  • Allocate time and resources based on Tierra's bottom line. Larger clients or projects receive more direct involvement.
  • Direct the team based on client needs:
    • Account Manager — ensure seamless client communication and timely completion of tasks
    • Media Buyer(s) — ensure achievement of KPIs and spend goals, providing strategic insights
    • Creative Strategist — ensure creative production aligns with client goals and Tierra's quality standards

Lead client strategy

  • Develop comprehensive media plans, set monthly budgets, work with media buyers to allocate spending across platforms
  • Align KPIs with client objectives
  • Create promotional strategies, especially for major holidays, product launches, or significant campaigns

Write Performance Marketing Briefs (PMBs)

  • With very few exceptions, every Tierra client gets a PMB as one of their deliverables
  • PMBs provide huge detail on client brand, offer, features, benefits, competitors, audience, and more
  • As GS, you author the PMB — helps you gain in-depth understanding of the offer
  • Some sections may be delegated, but you're responsible for completing and reviewing the full document

Lead client CRO

  • Identify performance bottlenecks in client funnels, recommend solutions to boost conversion rates
  • Lead development and implementation of split-tests for landing pages

Solve client issues

  • Anticipate and resolve potential issues proactively before they impact client satisfaction
  • Act as the primary point of escalation after the Account Manager when issues arise
  • Put out fires — or better yet, snuff out small sparks before they become fires
  • GS = line of defense between clients and Tierra's executive team

Upsell Tierra services

  • Recognize gaps in client assets or strategy that could benefit from additional Tierra services (photoshoots, UGC, landing pages, new ad platforms)
  • Proactively present upsell opportunities

Manage scope creep

  • Be familiar with the contract(s) for your respective clients
  • Ensure the team delivers within scope while tactfully addressing requests beyond the contract
  • In unclear situations, determine what is within or outside of scope, and communicate this with clients

Provide QA for all deliverables

  • Review all versions of landing pages throughout production, providing feedback on copy, design, format, functionality, mobile responsiveness, angle consistency, offer effectiveness, typos, pixels
  • Work closely with Creative Strategist to review ad briefs, creative concepts, finished ad creative, ad copy, and UGC content. Final approval before client.
  • Provide QA on other client deliverables as needed

Complete your assigned tasks

  • Complete all assigned Monday.com tasks by their due dates
  • Prioritize tasks that directly impact client performance or deliverables
  • Anticipate upcoming tasks and prepare in advance
  • Take ownership — if issues or delays arise, communicate promptly and seek assistance
  • Review all aspects of a task before marking it complete
