Create A Split Test In Mida
When in conflict
If there are discrepancies between the video and these notes, the notes take precedence.
Mida basics
Mida is a split-testing tool. Tierra uses it to test different landing page variations, primarily:
- URL Test — which of 2 links performs best
- Asset Test — new headlines, hero images, CTAs, etc.
Free plan limitations
| Limitation | Detail |
|---|---|
| Concurrent tests | Only 1 test live at a time |
| Monthly visitors | 25,000 cap — the test becomes inactive once hit |
When to use Mida
- Client is not on Shopify, OR
- Smaller client spending under $50,000/month
When NOT to use Mida
- Client is on Shopify and spending over $50,000/month
For larger Shopify clients, we recommend Intelligems instead.
Pixel setup
Shopify
- Ensure Tierra has access to the client's Shopify account in Shopify Partners. If not, send them the Shopify Access Guide and have them grant access.
- Mida has a simple Shopify integration that our developer Adam Alvarado (SyntaxDrips) can set up.
Non-Shopify
Still requires Adam Alvarado for setup. Adam will need:
- What website / CRM is the client using?
- What level of access do we have / need to the site?
- What is the nature of the conversion event?
Event / Goal setup
Event and goal setup is typically handled by the developer. Reference documentation if helpful:
